At the SAGA School, we foster diversity, equity, and inclusion by discovering and fostering the "superpowers" within our student community. In what ways are we all unique and how can we utilize our uniqueness to connect to others and make the world a better place?

As a language immersion program, our school attracts families from diverse backgrounds and different perspectives. Many bring unique experiences which are shared with others. SAGA fosters cross-cultural understanding by introducing elements of German language culture, but then expanding awareness by inviting students to share their own cultural traditions and practices with the classroom. These discussions facilitate an acknowledgement of the differences and commonalities between people and cultures in our global community. We model a peaceful, embracing attitude about the world, while cultivating a desire within our students to go out into the world to explore, find, experience and learn.

In the classroom, an inclusive environment is fostered as we work with students to develop awareness of the differences and similarities between people, resistance to stereotyping, and the ability to embrace the differences and challenges of others. The SAGA School community respects each child for who they are as a unique person: valuing their physical, emotional, social and cultural individuality. SAGA seeks to establish a trusting relationship between teachers, parents and children so that students can grow and learn in a manner that fits their own needs.
