We are excited to offer a Blockflöte/Recorder program at SAGA. This program offers music instruction for all ages and levels of expertise. Very young beginners are being led into the world of music by the “music cat.” We will learn the foundation of recorder playing as well as experience music with our entire bodies, listening, sing, and dancing. Rhythmic exercises and games will enrich the experience.

As the attention span for young children is still very short, we offer twice-weekly classes for PreK and Kindergarten on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, you may contact Sabine.Endrigkeit@sagaschool.org.

The more advanced classes (current students or students with previous experience on the recorder) will expand on their knowledge of music reading and performing, learning how to co-operate in an ensemble, and eventually delve into more challenging musical literature.

PreK class is open for new students (SAGA/Non-Students). Kindergarten (Kiga) through 5th Grade classes are for returning students only.

Do you like running? Come and join us for fun running activities. No previous running experience is required. Classes are on Wednesdays from 3:00pm – 4:00pm. Rain or shine - just bring a light rain jacket and your running shoes.

In this course, children will improve their awareness of nature and learn about mammals, birds, plants, and survival in our ecosystem through exploration, play, and interacting with land and the elements. Social learning and team building will be integrative elements in all the sessions. Children and staff will walk down to Carkeek Park from the school. Pickup will be at the park.

Chess Wizards offers challenging chess lessons, fun group activities, exciting tournaments, and more! If your child is brand-new to chess, we'll teach them the basics and get them playing right away. If they're a seasoned checkmate artist, they'll learn new ways to show their creativity on the chess board.
