Here at the SAGA School we are very proud of our library. Our collection includes over 3,500 German language books for adults and children, as well as hundreds of CDs and DVDs for all ages, and lots of colorful board books for our littlest visitors. Our collection is rich in variety and constantly expanding as we work with SAGA teaching staff to acquire books that support the SAGA curriculum. The library is open to the general public and has something for everyone. We hope to see you in the library soon!
When is the library open?
The library is currently open Mon 12:45-13:45; Tues 9:00-10:00; Wed 9:00-9:45; Fri 9:00-10:00. To verify opening hours or for any other questions contact email@example.com.
Who can use the library?
The SAGA library is available for students, staff, parents and members of the public. In other words, anyone with an interest in the German language will find something to enjoy in SAGA's library!
How are the materials organized?
Sections for children's fiction and non-fiction, early reader, and young adult books are located in the main library (down the stairs across from the Löwenkinder room), along with all of our DVDs and CDs. All adult books will soon be located in the Festhalle lobby/entrance.
How do I check out and return materials?
Children’s and young adult books and all CDs and DVDs must be checked out during SAGA library hours. Adult books are loaned on the honor system. All materials can be returned in the drop-box located on the main floor to the left of the main doors or in the library during library hours.
Are there limits to how many items I can check out?
Each family may have ten books or other library materials and three DVDs checked out at any given time. DVDs may be checked out for one week, all other library materials for three weeks.
What if I don’t read German?
German language DVDs and CDs are a fantastic and kid-friendly way to reinforce vocabulary children are learning in the SAGA classrooms. We also have a great collection of board books and picture dictionaries perfect for parents and young children to learn basic German words together!
Are there regular library visits for SAGA students?
SAGA elementary school students have weekly library visits. They have the option of checking out two items at a time (one book and one DVD, or two books, or two DVDs) for the duration of one week. These items will be checked out under the child's name.
Can I donate German language materials?
The SAGA Library is happy to accept your donations of clean, gently-used German language materials. We have particular need for children's and family DVDs, children's books on CD, non-fiction children's books such as the Wieso, Weshalb, Warum series, and popular children's chapter book titles. To make arrangements for a donation please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
